About the event
The coming together of groups through dance has been central in the development of human culture; maintaining community connection, marking times of transition, ritual, and celebrations. For many animals, such as birds and fish, the capacity to synchronize movement in large groups is imperative to their survival. There is a certain magic within the shared consciousness of moving together, which we aim to explore within this workshop, “Migratory Movements: Interweaving through Dance”.
So let's dance together! This weekend, we will start from our own anatomy and study the fine coordination of movement pathways, within the body and through space. This will allow room for individual differences, enable us to celebrate our similarities, and connect us through movement and music. Both as individuals and a collective, we will enjoy the pleasure of moving together, improvising, dancing our way through movement sequences and exploring composition group exercises to build shared attention.
